2026 Adulticiding (Fogging) Schedule

The Cache Mosquito Abatement District follows a planned fogging schedule throughout the mosquito season to provide effective mosquito control while minimizing impacts to residents. Scheduled treatments are based on routine surveillance, mosquito populations, and seasonal activity.

While every effort is made to follow the published schedule, mosquito control operations are subject to change without notice due to operational, environmental, or public health considerations.

Factors That May Affect the Fogging Schedule

The following conditions may require the District to delay, reschedule, modify, or expand mosquito control operations:

  • Weather Conditions – Fogging may be postponed due to unsuitable temperatures, high wind speeds, rainfall, or other weather conditions that reduce treatment effectiveness.
  • Public Holidays – Scheduled treatments may be adjusted to accommodate recognized holidays.
  • Vector-Borne Disease Activity – Detection of diseases such as West Nile virus or other mosquito-borne pathogens may require immediate changes to treatment priorities or emergency mosquito control operations.
  • Municipal or Agency Requests – Requests from cities, counties, public agencies, or emergency management officials may require adjustments to the planned schedule.
  • Mosquito Surveillance Results – Routine trapping and surveillance may identify areas requiring additional treatment or a change in treatment timing.
  • Equipment or Operational Needs – Vehicle maintenance, equipment issues, staffing, or other operational considerations may occasionally affect scheduled treatments.
  • Other Unforeseen Circumstances – Additional situations may arise that require the District to modify its operations in order to best protect public health and provide effective mosquito control.

Our Commitment

The Cache Mosquito Abatement District strives to complete all scheduled mosquito control activities as safely and effectively as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to reduce mosquito populations and help protect the health and quality of life of our communities.

Courtesy No-Spray Requests

When possible, the District will try to honor courtesy no-spray requests. Please submit a request in writing in order for us to plan routes and accommodate no spray requests. Click here to read this policy. Click here to obtain the form to complete and submit to CMAD. The request must be submitted EACH year.

Once disease has been found in a mosquito pool, such as WNV (West Nile
virus) or WEE (western equine encephalitis), the courtesy no-spray zones will be decreased or eliminated.  CMAD works closely with the public health department (Bear River HD) to track WNV and WEE activity and human cases. The District reserves the right to modify or nullify any and all courtesy no spray requests.
